A Christmas Love Story
December 18, 2014
MERRY CHRISTMAS DARLING, IT’S CHRISTMAS ONCE AGAIN and my only wish this year is that you could PLEASE COME HOME FOR CHRISTMAS, my love, because it’s now THE TWELVE DAYS OF CHRISTMAS and even though the weatherman has promised us a WHITE CHRISTMAS it will be such a BLUE CHRISTMAS without you. THIS CHRISTMAS we could be KISSIN’ BY THE MISTLETOE because I’ve already hung MISTLETOE AND HOLLY in remembrance of so many Christmases gone by when you were HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS. What a WONDERFUL CHRISTMASTIME as we would STEP INTO CHRISTMAS dancing to our favorite tune, THE CHRISTMAS WALTZ. Then afterwards we’d be ROCKIN’ AROUND THE CHRISTMAS TREE to JINGLE BELL ROCK as we LET IT SNOW, LET IT SNOW, LET IT SNOW.
DO YOU HEAR WHAT I HEAR, sweetheart? IT’S CHRISTMAS EVERYWHERE and WHAT CHRISTMAS MEANS TO ME is you. Because like A CHRISTMAS LONG AGO when we first met at our town’s ice skating rink, holding hands we glided across the frozen, glistening surface like autumn leaves floating on the wind as we fell forever in love. Every year my sweet memories of you take me there just like it was LAST CHRISTMAS.
Oh, what wonderful, blissful memories we’ve shared when the SILENT NIGHT was suddenly filled with the BELLS OF ST. MARY as we joined our lives together forever. Darling, you know in my heart CHRISTMAS AIN’T CHRISTMAS without you beside me. I remember those cold winter nights sipping warmed apple cider with cinnamon sticks while you’d sing me a love song like a CHRISTMAS SERENADE as we took that long SLEIGH RIDE through the countryside. You always made every Christmas special and THIS TIME OF YEAR when I think of the love we shared for so long I realize YOU’RE MY CHRISTMAS PRESENT still, this year and every year to come.
Sweetheart, you know as much as I do that THIS TIME OF YEAR brings back so many precious memories of SILVER BELLS, and the not so SILENT NIGHT of our BABY’S FIRST CHRISTMAS, remember? Remember the smiles on our precious bundle of joy’s face as he realized SANTA CLAUS IS COMING TO TOWN. Oh the laughter in their small voices, after his sister came along, and you taught them to sing RUDOLPH, THE RED NOSED REINDEER and ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS IS MY TWO FRONT TEETH. Those times were THE MOST WONDERFUL TIME OF THE YEAR. To hear happy, little voices giggle to THE CHIPMUNK SONG was a time I’ll cherish forever, my love.
Although, our children have children of their own now what a gift it is to GIVE LOVE ON CHRISTMAS DAY to family and friends we hold in our heart so close...such simple joy in togetherness, my love. What PEACE ON EARTH it is to be able to share the gift of love during Christmas and all year too. What JOY TO THE WORLD when the true meaning of Christmas is shared on an O HOLY NIGHT with others. We are truly blessed, darling, to have lived and loved and celebrated the true reason for the season because whenever WE NEED A LITTLE CHRISTMAS all we’ve ever done was look inside our hearts where love burns brightly and wasn’t love the best gift, after all, besides after we met every day felt like Christmas.
IT’S BEGINNING TO LOOK A LOT LIKE CHRISTMAS because I’ve decorated with so many memories. Yet, even though ‘TWAS THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS when Our Father called you to his side, I pray every year for anyone who has loved and lost that each of them knows PEACE ON EARTH especially in their hearts because WE NEED A LITTLE CHRISTMAS THIS TIME OF YEAR. And I know SOMEDAY AT CHRISTMAS I will again be by your side as you envelop me in your tender embrace and dance...slow...like autumn leaves floating on the wind while whispering in my ear a loving CHRISTMAS SERENADE.
MERRY, MERRY CHRISTMAS BABY forever and always I love you.
Friends, the holidays are upon us cherish loved ones and GIVE LOVE ON CHRISTMAS DAY!
