Hickory – Usher in the holiday season by attending this festive holiday bazaar on Saturday, November 3 in the Parish Center from 9am to 2pm.
Shoppers will enjoy delicious homemade breakfast and lunch foods while visiting vendors, many of whom are returning from previous years of showing and selling their wares.
Handmade crafts including table center pieces, bowl cozies, covered dish carriers, wreaths, and jewelry will be available for purchase. Homemade goodies, candies, baked items, and canned foods will be for sale. Specialty vendors from various companies will also be on site to offer goods.
Admission is free, and no yard sale items will be included. Sponsor of this Holiday Extravaganza is Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America (WELCA). This Bethany group is a community of women created in the image of God and called to discipleship in Jesus Christ. WELCA conducts projects, such as this Bazaar, to support the Lord’s work and to offer activities that benefit the community at large.
Participants can purchase raffle tickets for $2 each in order to be in four separate drawings for a king sized quilt made by the members of the Church’s quilting group, a flat screen television, a gold and diamond heart-shaped necklace, and two contemporary chairs. The members of WELCA will be selling an array of professional knives, which will make excellent holiday presents. Whole chicken pies will be available for takeout purchase. Advanced reservations for pies are suggested. Pastor Dr. C. Pierson Shaw, Jr. will be on hand to welcome all guests, as well as members of the Church’s Evangelism/Social Ministry Committee.
For more information or to reserve a chicken pie, contact Carol Alley, Church Secretary, at 828-322-5002, or email her at [email protected]. Also, check out the web site: www.bethanyhickory.org, or find us on Facebook.
