Hickory – Western Piedmont Symphony (WPS), the professional orchestra of the western foothills of North Carolina is in its 59th season.
Its next Masterworks performance is on Friday, February 9, 2024, titled Masterworks: Carmina Burana. Featured soloists are Sequina DuBose, soprano, Daniel Stein, tenor, and David Pershall, baritone.
One of classical music’s most spellbinding and immersive experiences, Carmina Buranais an epic, captivating choral masterpiece. A massive orchestra and huge chorus join forces for Carl Orff’s infamous ode to love, drink, and living life to the fullest. Brahms’ Academic Festival Overture opens the concert.
Featuring members of the CVCC Chorus, Hickory Choral Society, Lenoir-Rhyne University A Cappella Choir, and Lenoir-Rhyne Youth Chorus. Concert begins at 7:30 p.m., at the P.E. Monroe Auditorium at Lenoir-Rhyne University in Hickory. The P.E. Monroe Auditorium is located at 775 6th St NE, Hickory, NC 28601.
