Hickory – The City of Hickory Parks, Recreation & Sports Tourism Department and Lenoir-Rhyne University (LRU) are partnering to present the Hickory Summer Track Series again this year.
Track and field events will be held Thursdays, May 30 through June 20, from 6-9 p.m. at the Lenoir-Rhyne University outdoor track.
Participants will earn points throughout the series while competing in various events.
Track and field events throughout the series include: kids 50m, 1 mile, 100m, 200m, 300m, 400m, 4x100m, 800m, 2 miles, 5000m, long jump, triple jump, shot put, high jump, and pole vault.
Divisions will be offered by age: 10 and under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60+.
Participants can register online for the entire series or individual nights at runsignup.com/Race/NC/Hickory/HickorySummerTrackSeries. The cost to participate is $10 per night or $30 for the entire series, plus online service fees. Online registration ends at noon the day of each event. In person registration will be available from 5-6:30 p.m. each night of the series with a price increase of $5.
The LRU outdoor track is located at 625 Seventh Avenue Place NE in Hickory.
