Newton, NC – The Catawba Valley Festival of the Arts is pleased to offer Intro to DubStep: an Electronic Popping Dance Workshop, an exhilarating dance session where the innovative style of electronic popping will take center stage with you as the star! This unique dance lesson event, open at no cost to kids and adults alike, will be held on August 3rd from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Catawba Farms, Great Hall Tasting Room, in Newton, NC.

Electronic popping is a dance style that has captivated audiences worldwide as it fuses the iconic movements of Michael Jackson with the dynamic elements of hip-hop. With its sharp, isolated movements and fluid transitions, this dance form offers a visually stunning performance that perfectly complements the syncopated rhythms and heavy basslines of dubstep—a genre of electronic dance music that originated in South London in the early 2000s. The event at Catawba Farms provides a fantastic opportunity for participants to immerse themselves in the world of electronic popping, guided by expert instructors who will teach the fundamental techniques of this exciting dance style.

This workshop is part of Christopher Price’s visionary initiative, organized in conjunction with local dance instructors Tiffany Burgin and Katie Bush of Miss Treva’s School of Dance. Christopher Price is a local entrepreneur who aims to bring the art of dance to everyone, fostering creativity and expression through movement.

“As a member of the core event team with the Catawba Valley Festival of the Arts, I am excited to bring this vibrant dance workshop to the community,” said Christopher Price.

“Electronic popping is a style that resonates with all ages, offering a fun and engaging way to express oneself. Whether you’re a seasoned dancer or a beginner, this workshop promises to be an unforgettable experience.”

Kids are particularly drawn to electronic popping due to its energetic and expressive nature, making it a perfect activity for young dancers to showcase their creativity and precision. The rise of social media platforms and dance challenges has further fueled the popularity of this dance form, making it a staple in dance communities and competitions worldwide.

Don’t miss this chance to experience the electrifying world of electronic popping at Catawba Farms. Bring your friends and family for a morning filled with music, movement, and creativity.

Free and open to children and adults of all ages.
