Hart Square Village 39th Heritage Festival

Hart Square Foundation will welcome visitors to its 39th Heritage Festival on October 26, 2024, from 10am- 5pm.  Experience life as it would have been in the early 1800s as you stroll through the nation’s largest collection of historic log cabins. This immersive experience is a celebration of traditional arts, trades, and practices of our region.

On the day of the festival, Hart Square Village will bustle with knowledgeable craftspeople, many of whom have gained regional and national acclaim for their artistry.  This highly talented group of volunteers continue the tradition of bringing Hart Square Village to life. You will witness everything from lacemaking, to tin smithing, to turning pottery and firing it in a groundhog kiln.

Rebecca Hart, Executive Director, says, “Our Founders, Dr. Bob and Mrs. Becky Hart, envisioned this annual event as a celebration of cultural heritage where traditional arts and trades can be shared with our community. It’s an honor to carry forward this tradition of preserving and sharing.  I invite you to join us on October 26th to step back in time at Hart Square Village.”

Hart Square Village is an open-air museum located in Vale, North Carolina, consisting of 103 historic log structures built between 1760 and 1893. Hart Square Foundation is the non-profit organization that preserves Hart Square Village and shares traditional arts and trades through year-round mission driven programming.
