Hickory – Full Circle Arts invites photographers to enter its next competition, Summer Memories July 23-August 29.

Artists should bring their best or worst memories about the season.  All ideas are welcome.  Entries are due at Full Circle Arts gallery July 9-11.

All art is expected to be the original work of the submitting artist.  Photographs should be printed and suitably framed for hanging.

There are $225 in prizes.  The judge is Michael Gaines, an adjunct professor of photography at Appalachian State University, Catawba Valley Community College and Lenoir-Rhyne University. He earned his BFA in photography from Appalachian State University and his MFA in photography from East Carolina University. His work focuses on the intersection of personal myth and identity, while examining both the fragility and constructed nature of memory.

Full Circle Arts is also holding an indoor yard “Y’art” sale in its gallery, Thursday, July 2, 10-4, and Friday, July 3, 10-4.  The purpose is to raise funds for activities such as Summer Memories.
