Hickory – Join Adult Children of Aging Parents (ACAP) as Dennis Stamper presents “Anxiety, Depression and Loneliness and the Meaning of Life As We Age” on Tuesday August 13, 5:30-7:00pm in the Fellowship Hall at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church, Hickory (2780 N. Center Street).
We live in a culture that highly values youth. We are constantly bombarded with messages and commercials trying to sell us things to keep us young. Aging is almost exclusively seen in terms of loss, diminishment and decline. It’s no wonder that older adults often struggle with anxiety, depression, loneliness and a loss of meaning in their lives as they age, and that adult children struggle with how to best help their parents with these concerns. Let’s have a conversation about how adult children may help their parents and loved ones find joy and meaning as they age and help them not just grow old but grow whole.
Dennis Stamper is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Chaplain at Carolinas Health Care System Blue Ridge in Morganton, NC.
We hope you will join us for this FREE program.
