Hickory – ACAP Hickory (Adult Children of Aging Parents) presents “Home Sweet Home: Residential Options for Mom and Dad” on Tuesday, September 11, 5:30-7pm. Location for the program is the Fellowship Hall of Mt Olive Lutheran Church, 2780 North Center Street, Hickory. Speaker for the program is Ted Goins, President & CEO, Lutheran Services Carolinas.
Caring for Mom or Dad can be one of the greatest joys for children. It’s the child’s opportunity to give back. As your parents age, start the conversation early about where they would like to live; what happens when they can no longer live independently; what is their financial situation; how you can help. Decisions will be much easier when “the future” is discussed and a plan developed that your family can follow when your parents can no longer live on their own.
Join Ted Goins as he discusses: housing options and services available for seniors; strategies and resources for evaluating and choosing appropriate housing options and services; the concept of “aging in place,” strategies and resources for home modifications, and other supports to help loved ones live safely and independently for as long as possible.
Ted Goins is President & CEO of Lutheran Services Carolinas. He began his career as a certified nursing assistant. Goins is a veteran administrator and visionary for Lutheran Services Carolinas, the corporate entity of Trinity Ridge and Trinity Village, formerly Lutheran Home.
ACAP Hickory gratefully acknowledges Brookdale Falling Creek and Trinity Ridge/Trinity Village as sponsors for the September program.
