Alexander County, NC – Have you ever considered opening your home to a foster child? The Alexander County Department of Social Services (DSS) encourages local families to become involved and learn more about becoming a foster-adoptive parent.
“We know that becoming a foster parent is an incredible endeavor and requires a big first step, but we hope some more local families will take that step and make a difference in a child’s life,” said Myles McLain, Alexander County DSS Foster Licensing Coordinator. “In Alexander County, our mission is that any child who is in a circumstance that leads them to be placed in foster care can have a home here locally so they can continue to maintain their connections with friends, school, and all the things that are so important in a child’s life.”
