Hickory – Based upon an increase in COVID-19 vaccine availability, Catawba County Public Health, Catawba Valley Health System and Frye Regional Medical Center are working together to fill a large number of individual appointments starting this week. Individuals who wish to schedule an appointment may now call the COVID-19 Vaccination Referral Line at 828-282-2002 (Mon-Fri 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.).
In addition to scheduling by phone, appointment specialists will continue to call individuals to schedule appointments requested through www.CatawbaVaccine.org. Both options are available to anyone 16 and older who wishes to receive a vaccination.
Catawba County Public Health, Catawba Valley Health System and Frye Regional Medical Center are working in partnership to ensure that individuals and employers have a convenient way to schedule and receive the vaccine.
“We are excited to make this change, as it signals that more vaccine is becoming available through increased allocations,” said Catawba County Public Health Director Jennifer McCracken. “More providers are also coming on board with additional doses, which means it’s becoming easier and quicker for people to get vaccinated.”
Nearly a quarter of Catawba County’s population is now at least partially vaccinated.
“Vaccination efforts are gaining momentum, and we continue to work toward achieving a high vaccination rate that will protect the health of our residents and help our community get back to a sense of normalcy,” said McCracken.
