Hickory – Artists of all ages are invited to apply for an open-themed, juried exhibition presented by Trade Alley Art Gallery. The event will run Tuesday, October 6th through Friday, October 23rd. Cash prizes of $1,200 to be awarded: 1st place, $500.00, 2nd Place $300.00, 3rd Place $200.00. All hanging 2D media and art styles will be considered. Works must not exceed 24” in any dimension.
Jenna Bailey will judge the exhibit. Bailey is a local artist and art teacher at Hibriten High School in Lenoir, NC. She graduated from UNC Greensboro in 2009 with a BFA in Art Education and a concentration in painting. She has taught high school level art for 12 years in Wilkes and Caldwell counties and is a member of the Brush & Palette Club of Caldwell County. She works in a variety of mediums including encaustic, printmaking, watercolor, acrylic, and ceramics. Her artwork focuses on imagery of graceful female portraits and natural elements, like plants and wildlife.
