Hickory – Catawba Valley Community College’s Ethics and Accounting II classes will host author and speaker Chuck Gallagher at noon on October 31, in the East Wing Auditorium which is located on the Main Campus on Hwy. 70 SE in Hickory.
In a cross-disciplinary project, the students have been using Gallagher’s non fiction book “Second Chances” to explore ethical dilemmas, the consequences of choices and how adversity can be transformed into opportunity. The book outlines Gallagher’s decision to steal money from a client resulting in his federal prison sentence.
The students wrote essays and created videos highlighting an especially meaningful aspect of Gallagher’s book.
