Hickory – Carolina Broadway Theatre Company (CBTC) proudly presents the supernatural romantic thriller, Ghost: The Musical, March 15, 16, and 17 at Lenoir-Rhyne University.
Directed by Robert Clater and choreographed by Lesia Kaye, this CBTC production showcases talented performers from theHUB@CBTC . The purpose of theHUB@CBTC is to allow young artists the flexibility of completing their academic school work, while allowing time for performing arts training and/or professional pursuit. theHUB@CBTC’s academics are cross referenced emphasizing critical thinking and independent study giving students a window into college expectations.
CBTC presents Ghost: The Musical as its 2019 entry into the Blumey Awards – The High School Musical Theatre Awards sponsored by The Blumenthal Performing Arts organization.
Ghost: The Musical is adapted from the 1990 Academy Award winning film starring Patrick Swayze, Demi Moore, and Whoopi Goldberg. It follows the story of Sam and Molly, a young New York couple whose connection takes a shocking turn after Sam’s untimely death. To communicate with his young widow, Sam turns to a storefront psychic Oda Mae Brown. With an original pop score from multiple Grammy award winners Dave Stewart, one half of the 80’s pop duo the Eurythmics, and Glen Ballard, co-writer with Alanis Morissette on the multi-platinum album Jagged Little Pill, the musical’s tale of everlasting love is thrilling entertainment.
Performance dates and show times: Friday, March 15 and Saturday, March 16 at 7:00 p.m. and Sunday, March 17 at 3:00 p.m. at the Belk-Centrum Theater at Lenoir-Rhyne University.
