Newton, NC – To honor and celebrate executive board members of the original 1950 Catawba County NAACP Branch who paved the way for our community today.

The February meeting of the Catawba County Branch NAACP will be on Sunday, February 8th, 2026, at 4:00pm Mt. Olin AME Zion Church, 2583 Smyre Farm Rd, Newton, NC.

Join us for our February NAACP Monthly Meeting and workshop hosted by Ms. Lacolia Mungro, Executive Board Member of Youth Works, as we celebrate executive members of the original 1950 Catawba County NAACP Branch, with honoree family members sharing and honoring their lasting legacy in our community.

The NAACP is the nation’s oldest and largest civil rights organization. The Catawba County Branch meets on the second Sunday of each month.
