Hickory – From pioneer times until today, women have made significant contributions to life in Catawba County. Their endeavors have made a lasting impact on family life, education, the arts, philanthropy, government and medicine. Come to Patrick Beaver Memorial Library on Thursday, March 15th at 6:30 pm to hear their stories and celebrate their achievements. The presenter, genealogist Peggy Mainess, will discuss the impact of women during the early years of Catawba County. These remarkable women united to bring culture and education to the area as a means of improving life.
