Hickory – The Hickory Community Theatre closes out its 68th Season with Neil Simon’s semi-autobiographical comedy, Chapter Two. The comic romance opens this weekend, with performances June 22nd through the 25th, the beginning of an eight performance run that continues through July 2nd.
The show, on stage in the Firemen’s Kitchen, is produced by the Theatre’s senior actors program, The Encore Players.
The comic plot concerns George, a widowed writer suffering through a series of unwanted dates arranged by his well-meaning brother, Leo. When George finally meets Jennie, she seems to be “the one.” Jennie, a divorcée, is a bit hesitant about the dating game herself, but is also enduring a parade of disastrous dates arranged by her friend Faye.
Performances run June 22-July 2, 2017, Thursdays through Saturdays at 7:30pm and Sundays at 2:30 pm. Admission is $16, reserved seating for all performances. Tickets may be purchased online at hickorytheatre.showare.com/chapter2, or at the theatre box office. The box office is open 12-5 Wednesday through Friday in person or by calling 828-328-2283.
The Theatre’s 68th season is sponsored by Paramount Automotive and A Cleaner World. The Hickory Community Theatre is a Funded Affiliate of the United Arts Council of Catawba County.
