LONESOME RIVER BAND AT THE OLD ROCK SCHOOL POSTPONED!
Due to a COVID-19 outbreak with Lonesome River Band members, the concert scheduled for the Old Rock School in Valdese on 10/9/21 will be postponed to a later date. We truly apologize for any inconvenience this may cause our attendees.
All tickets sold will be valid for the postponement date. This date will be announced as soon as possible. We wish the band members a speedy recovery during this difficult time. Valdese, NC –The 2021-2022 Concerts at the Rock Bluegrass season will open Saturday, October 9th with a special performance from Lonesome River Band! This will be the first of six monthly concerts hosted by the Old Rock School from October through March of next year.
One of the most respected names in bluegrass music, Lonesome River Band has captivated fans with their trademark acoustic sound for decades. In addition to touring for most of 2021, the group recently released their new album “Singing Up There: A Tribute to the Easter Brothers” in late July, paying homage to their bluegrass gospel inspirations. Members include award-winning banjo player and band leader, Sammy Shelor, Jesse Smathers (vocalist and guitar), Mike Hartgrove (fiddle), and newest members, Adam Miller and Kameron Keller.
“We’ve been fortunate to have the opportunity to host Lonesome River band on our stage in the past and are looking forward to welcoming them again as our season openers” states Morrissa Angi, Director of Community Affairs for Valdese. “They are truly a crowd favorite and the perfect way to kick off an impressive lineup of talent this season at the Rock!”
The health and safety of the community is first priority for the Old Rock School staff. In addition to sanitization of all concert areas, all attendees are strongly encouraged to wear masks.
