Hickory – The Corner Table Soup Kitchen is holding a reception to announce the winners of the Parade of Cans Food Drive Competition.
The awards take place Thursday, September 24, at 3 PM, at the Norman B. Coley Outdoor Amphitheatre in Conover, NC.
Parade of Cans is an annual food drive hosted by The Corner Table each year to collect much-needed food supplies for their meal programs. Each year, local churches and businesses compete for the infamous canned trophy to see who will be named the “Can”pion of that year. This year, we will be handing out four trophies, and all participants will receive a certificate. Light refreshments will be provided to-go. In the case of inclement weather, the reception may be postponed.

The Corner Table provides meals with compassion, respect, and dignity to those in our community affected by hunger. Located in downtown Newton, The Corner Table has served more than 750,000 meals since its inception in 2002. The Corner Table provides meals to the less fortunate through means of a soup kitchen, bag lunches, frozen meals, and weekend food bags for students.
