Hickory – Full Circle Arts announces two shows on display, “Salon de Refuse” and “Clay+Wood”. Both shows will be featured at the HDDA Art Crawl Kick-Off party Thursday, September 15 beginning 5:00. The Art Crawl/Reception continues to 8:00.
For Salon de Refuse, eleven artists have brought in art they no longer wanted to work on, incomplete, rejected, refused. These were taken up by the other artists in the project and renewed. Some were changed a little bit and some made completely different. The new works are hanging side-by-side with photos of the refused versions. Participants are L. Michelle Bitler, Corina Brown, Maria Campagna, Jennifer Cline, Meredith Janssen, Walt McGervey, Karen Parker, Chris Parsons, Rebecca Burger, Ellen Schwarzbek, and Alison Willard. Salon de Refuse is set to open open August 25 to September 17.
Clay+Wood includes five potters: Carla Brandel, Virginia Hurley, Varian Swieter, and Dale and Debra Zimmerman, plus a woodworker, Ron Sinclair. Their work is on display September 8 to October 1.
