Hickory – Full Circle Arts is placing this call to artists to enter our Fall Competition for this year.
This exhibition has no thematic requirements and is open to all artist of both 3-D and 2-D work. We suggest entering your best work to have the opportunity of winning one of our 3 cash awards totaling $600 of First, Second and Third places in the competition. Several Honorable Mentions will also be awarded as well and during the show viewers will be given the opportunity to vote for an artist’s work to receive the People’s Choice Award. Full Circle’s competitions have always had many entries and the quality of the work is high, so be prepared to vie for prizes with quite a few other exceptional artists.
Our judge and juror for this year’s fall show will be artist and teacher Gary Freeman. Perhaps you saw his work in the recent exhibition at The Hickory Museum of Art, “Blue Ridge Realists”.
Mr. Freeman was formerly a teacher at the art department at Gaston College and presently teaches at Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy. He has been a painter and printmaker for 30 years and is well known for his North Carolina landscapes.
Art must be hand delivered to our gallery at 42-B Third St. NW, Hickory, Oct. 3, 4, & 5 during regular gallery hours. Artwork can be no larger than 48 inches in any direction and must be wired for hanging and 3-D work must have its own pedestal. Each artist may enter 3 pieces of art for an entry fee of $35 for non-members, $25 for members and $10 for Exhibiting Members.
We extend warm and gracious thanks to the sponsors for our Fall Competition this year, Carl and Sharon Cline, Resource Partners LLC and Dr. William Straka, DDS, PA.
We will be hosting a wonderful opening reception for the artists and public on Thursday evening Oct. 17, 2019 from 6-8 pm.
