Hickory – Artists in the area are invited to enter their art in a competition at Full Circle Arts called “It’s Music to My Eyes”. The purpose of “It’s Music to My Eyes” is to give area artists a means to show art in all visual media. Full Circle Arts is looking for artists to show how music affects them in their art and their lives. In two or three sentences, tell us what inspired you to create this particular work of art.
Works are due at the gallery, Thursday, January 6, or Saturday, January 8, 2022.
The exhibition will be on display January 20 to February 19. Entries will be juried for acceptance and judged for prizes.
Entry fee must be paid at time of delivery. Cash, check, credit cards are accepted. Registration fee is non-refundable. FCA exhibiting members – $10, FCA associate and patron members – $25,
Non-members – $35, for up to three entries.
Juror and judge is Byron Jones. Mr. Jones earned a BA in creative art from UNC-Wilmington and a BFA in Arts Education and an MA in K-12 Administration from East Carolina University. In his words, “From early childhood, I specifically remember three things: drawing, playing basketball and music. To this day, I can hear a song and vividly recall exact moments from over forty years ago. Music and a good pair of headphones has been an essential part of my life.”
