Hickory – Full Circle Arts is displaying s group of paintings and collages by Karen Parker and Walt McGervey until June 29. They call the show “Pet Projects”.
The artist couple from Statesville create art in very different styles. Parker presents charming portraits of several cats and dogs, carefully painted in loving and accurate detail.
McGervey’s work expresses an irreverent and fun-loving attitude. Some of his collages even have references to Marcel Duchamp, famous Dada artist of the early 20th century.
