Hickory – The second of this semester’s three-part First Friday lecture series at Lenoir-Rhyne University will take place Friday, March 1 at 10 a.m. in Rudisill Library room 127 and will feature Kimberly Sloop, instructor of nursing. Sloop’s presentation is entitled “Family Caregiving in Aging America.” The presentation will start with an introduction to family caregivers and their contribution to the care of older adults. Then, the focus will move specifically to family caregivers of people with COPD, including findings from Sloop’s doctoral research. Attendees will learn how to recognize caregiver role strain and self- care tips for caregivers will be offered.
