Lincolnton, NC – Gallery 27’s Micro Film Festival is January 11 & 12.  The film screenings will be followed by a discussion with local filmmakers. Prepare to be entertained!

The following is a list of movies that will be shown during our second Micro Film Festival. This is a free community event. Due to the success of last year’s festival, we are offering two nights of  screenings, Saturday January 11, 2019, 7:00pm-9:00pm and January 12, 2019 6-8pm at NC Gallery 27, located at 808 West Hwy 27, Lincolnton, NC. The same films will be shown each night and popcorn and drinks will be provided.

Film Festival works are intended to show the many ways that film and video can be used as an art form to inform and express. They are not commercial films of the sort that you can find in your standard multiplex. Parents should review the lineup and decide if the films are appropriate for their younger children. Join us as we celebrate the art of filmmaking! This is a free community event no ticket purchase required.

Micro Film Fest

Remember the Promise (9:30) – Drama – violence. Filmmaker: Grayson Taylor.

Jelly Bean (15:55) – Drama. After the death of her adopted mother, Claire and her father deal with the aftermath while Claire thinks about trying to find her biological family. Filmmakers: Devin Walker and Christian Sales.

Humble Beast (10:00) – Drama. Nick is a young, undefeated, bare-knuckle boxer indebted to some of the city’s most dangerous people. Nick faces a match that, upon his victory, would provide the money he desperately needs. When his wife discovers he’s having an affair, Nick must decide what is truly worth fighting for. Filmmaker: Ricardo Garcia.

No Tip (14:52) – Drama – language and violence. Loyalties are tested when a young man crosses paths with the son of a mob boss. Filmmakers: Christine Hurley and Crystal Marze (editor).

After the Wake (17:14) – Drama – a scene of strong language. Two estranged sisters clash after the death of their mother, forcing a buried secret to the surface. Filmmaker: Michael Helms.

Armageddon (2:58) – Comedy – language. One scene in a coffee shop takes us through the flourishing and then floundering relationship of a couple. Filmmaker: Jim Meyer.

Quincy Jones (3:00) – Comedy – violence. Quincy seeks revenge after the kidnapping of his Chinese adopted son, Dong Sung. Filmmaker: Shaun Swift Sandman – Camillo Herrera.

Still other films to be determined will be featured.
