Hickory – Join Patrick Beaver Memorial Library genealogist Peggy Mainess on Thursday, February 21 at 6:30 pm for the return of Genealogy Thursdays. This workshop will focus on using death records to further your family research.
Family research may be prompted by a desire to develop a family tree, a wish to become acquainted with family history or a desire to know family medical information. This session will explore the ways that death records can answer questions triggered by each of these three motives for doing family research. Topics will include: identifying records that will answer your questions; finding death records; developing a medical family tree; and conducting cemetery research.
The Bring New Life to Family Research with Death Records workshop will take place in the Carolina Room on the second floor of the Patrick Beaver Memorial Library located at 375 Third Street NE, Hickory. The workshop is free, but registration is required. Register online at www.hickorync.gov/content/library-events or call 828-304-0500 extension 7235.
