Hickory – Snow White and a band of fairy tale princesses are here to set the record straight in the clever, entertaining, and edgy musical Disenchanted. This show will be presented online by the Hickory Community Theatre starting on Friday, October 16, and continuing through October 24. Tickets are available through the theatre’s website at hickorytheatre.org.
These aren’t the one-dimensional, animated princesses you know and they’re “zooming” into your living room to reveal the pitfalls of “happily ever after.” It’s off-beat, hilarious, and slightly subversive with a playful score. Each song is funnier than the last as these disenchanted women skewer every stereotype.
Performances of Disenchanted are Fri/Sat, Oct 16, 17, 23 & 24 at 7:30; Sun, Oct 18 at 2:30; and Thu, Oct 22 at 7:30. Tickets are $12 for individuals and $24 for families of two or more. Tickets go on sale on October 5 at hickorytheatre.org. Season subscribers may reserve by calling the Theatre box office at 828-328-2283 or email [email protected]. This production is rated PG-13 for adult language and situations.
Disenchanted is the first production in the Theatre’s 2020-2021 Season. Paramount Automotive and Sunbelt Xpress are the season sponsors. This production is produced by Alex Lee, Inc. Hickory Community Theatre is a funded affiliate of the United Arts Council of Catawba County.
