Hickory – After seeking public input and discussing community transportation needs with stakeholder groups, Greenway Public Transportation is excited to present the public with proposed changes to the Catawba fixed bus route.
These proposed changes, which await public review and board approval, could be the first major bus route alterations in over a decade.
The newly released route changes scenario takes into account the input of current bus riders as well as key stakeholders like non-profits, governments, business and industry employers, and civic leaders.
To access the proposed changes and provide comment, please go to www.mygreenway.org for scenario maps and to complete the online survey. Public comment via survey may be submitted until March 20, 2021.
Any route scenario will need to be approved by the Greenway Board of Directors before implementation of any bus route changes slated for summer 2021.
All members of the public are welcome to review the proposed scenario online and provide their thoughts by March 20, 2021.
Contact person for the project Aaron Kohrs may be reached at [email protected] or 828-465-7640. Brian Horton of the Western Piedmont Council of Governments served as the route changes planning technician.
