Hickory – Annually, the members of Hartzell Memorial United Methodist Church observe Homecoming on the first Sunday of November. Homecoming is a special day in the church calendar. It is a time for remembering and renewing relationships in worship and fellowship. This year, Homecoming is followed by a two-day period of revival.
On November 5, the 11:00 AM Homecoming service will feature Rev. Dr. Donald Jenkins, retired United Methodist minister. Rev. Jenkins is a native of Kansas City, Kansas. He holds credentials from American Baptist College, Nashville, Tennessee and Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary, Evanston, Illinois. He held clergy membership in two conferences of the United Methodist Church; from 1981 to 2022.
The revival will begin Monday, November 6th and last through Tuesday, November 7th. Scheduled Revivalists are Rev. Dr. Anthony Freeman of Clinton Tabernacle AME Zion Church, Hickory, on Monday and Rev. Todd Holmes, Tabernacle Meeting Ministries, Statesville, NC on Tuesday.
