Hickory – Celebrate the home-stretch of summer on Friday, August 9, for the next in this year’s series of Hickory Arts house concerts featuring Stephanie Lindsay & Judy Pruitt with John Coffey for an evening of Broadway musical numbers and some folk tunes.
Tickets are $20 and can be purchased online at hickoryarts.com/stephanielindsayjudypruitthouseconcert. Only 30 seats available. Tickets will not be sold at the door. Doors open at 7:30 pm for an “eat & greet” with the artists. Performance begins at 8 pm.
Stephanie Lindsay was a “theater kid” in high school in the 1980’s, but she left performing behind to become a doctor and a mom. After a 25-year absence, she returned to the stage at CAST theater in Granite Falls in 2013. Since then, she has been cast in many plays and musicals at Hickory Theater, The Green Room and Lenoir-Rhyne University. Some of her favorite roles have been in Love Letters, A Streetcar Named Desire, Sweeney Todd, All Shook Up, Glorious!, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, Wonder of the World, Wizard of Oz, Daddy’s Dyin’ Who’s Got the Will? and Seussical. Stephanie is also a series regular on Relativity, a science-fiction radio drama podcast by Lee Shackleford. She has always loved to sing, but she had no formal music training. Studying with John Coffey for the past 2 ½ years has given her confidence and valuable vocal skills. She is thrilled to partner with the incredibly talented Judy Pruitt for this concert.
Judy Pruitt is a two-time Best Actress Kay Award-winner for Hickory Theatre and a Willy Award-winner for Foothills Performing Arts. Judy has performed in leading roles at The Green Room and soloed for Hickory Choral Society. Beginning in high school and college, she performed in coffee houses and restaurants with her guitar for her love of traditional and contemporary folk music. She joins Stephanie Lindsay to sing some wonderful duets from the stage and screen.
Hickory Arts House Concerts are very intimate. Volunteers to “pot luck” for the performer(s) and guests is strongly encouraged. All proceeds always go directly to the artist(s). No membership or personal invitation required.
