Hickory – After a sold‑out opening weekend, the laugh‑out‑loud musical farce, The Trail to Oregon returns to the Firemen’s Kitchen this Friday through Sunday. The wagon is breaking, the food is gone, and the Bandit King is waiting. The audience will decide who survives the journey. Due to popular demand, two additional performances have been added on Friday and Saturday, March 27 and 28 at 7:30pm in the Firemen’s Kitchen.
Tickets for the current run are going quickly, with only a handful remaining for this weekend (March 13–15) and limited availability for the following weekend (March 19–21), so audiences are encouraged to reserve seats soon.
Tickets are $18 for adults and $12 for youth and students. Due to adult language and content, the production is recommended for ages 18 and up. Tickets are available at hickorytheatre.org or by calling 828‑328‑2283.
The Trail to Oregon is produced by The Estate of Paul Sapp. Hickory Community Theatre is a funded affiliate of Arts Culture Catawba and receives sustaining support from the North Carolina Arts Council, a division of the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources. Hickory Theatre Guild Beer Tasting
Now in its 18th year, the HCT Theatre Guild’s Annual Beer Tasting returns on Tuesday, March 24 at 6:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers at Hickory Community Theatre. Local brewers and connoisseurs will share a curated selection of favorite brews. In addition to the libations, your $35 ticket includes a generous array of heavy hors d’oeuvres.

Educational Programs: Spring Disney Magic & Summer Improv Mayhem
Dancing with Disney! — Spring Class — Tuesdays, April 28–May 19 • 5–6 PM • Tuition: $100
This spring, young performers can step into familiar stories with a Disney‑themed performance class where they learn songs, scenes, and choreography inspired by beloved characters. Guided by guest teaching artist Kendall Melton, students will prepare a short showcase for family and friends. Flexible payment options are available.
Teen Improvageddon — Summer Camp — June 15–19 • 2–5 PM • Tuition: $150 (includes T‑shirt)
Our summer offering invites teens to think fast and play big in a weeklong improv intensive inspired by HCT’s original Improvageddon format.” Led by Education Director Kelsey Kott, students build ensemble skills through a series of games and conclude with a full Improvageddon round for invited guests.
