Hiddenite, NC – The public is invited to attend a Coffee House event on Friday, November 8th, 2024 from 7:30 – 9:30 pm at the Hiddenite Arts & Heritage Center’s Educational Complex (70 Hiddenite Church Rd., Hiddenite, NC) featuring the reflective, acoustic sounds of “Honeycutt Canvas”. The proceeds from this event will be designated for hurricane relief and will feature “Honeycutt Canvas”, a locally based folk music family ensemble. Guests will enjoy music, a custom coffee bar, and a dessert buffet all for donations made to this worthwhile cause.
Currently, the foursome consists of Garrett Williams, Grace Deal, Andrew Cunningham, and Alyson Canter who are 4 of the 8 children of Ginger Honeycutt Cunningham. In coming up with a name for the group, “Honeycutt Canvas” looked to the roots of their family and the glue that binds them together… their mother Ginger H. Cunningham. Their musical style and amazing harmonies reflect many different musical fortes with emotional tone and inflection which is simply mesmerizing.
Garrett Williams of Lenoir was a music major of Appalachian State University and a classically trained musician who plays a variety of instruments and brings character with his vocals. Grace Deal of Statesville is a singer/songwriter who brings her gifts of bold vocal leads and harmonies to the mix.
Andrew Cunningham of Taylorsville stands strong with his guitar playing style and wide vocal ranges.
Alyson Canter of Hiddenite brings such beautiful balance with her strong harmonies and gifted vocal leads. Andrew and Alyson have provided music for various Hiddenite Center events and were well received, leaving patrons wanting more. They have rolled out a folksy warm repertoire that echoes the Celtic roots of their father, the late Alan Cunningham.
In addition to great music, the Coffee House event will feature a custom coffee bar by Mike Deal of REAL DEAL COFFEE COMPANY, also an up-and-coming Alexander County delight. Deal, who roasts and blends his own coffee concoctions will have products available for purchase.
Coffee House seating will accommodate small or large groupings. Come as you are and support this joint effort to support our neighbors in western NC in their recovery. Proceeds from this event will be given via Samaritan’s Purse of Boone, NC, Hurricane Helene Relief Fund.
