Hickory – The Hickory Community Theatre’s newest live broadcast production, Fully Committed by Becky Mode, opens this Friday, December 4. The show will be broadcast online, live from the Jeffers Theatre. The show is directed by HCT’s new Artistic Director, Eric Seale, and presented through special arrangement with Dramatist Play Service. The one-man tour de force is a comedy about Sam, a struggling actor, earning a living taking reservations for one of Manhattan’s high-end food temples. This demanding and entertaining role is played by Will Vogler, a local actor from Lenoir.
The play takes place on a day when no one else but Sam has come to work. It’s the holiday season and the phones are ringing off the hook. Answering with not one, not two but three different phones – and an intercom – he voices more than 40 characters. They’re a cast of desperate callers who will stop at nothing in their zeal to land a prime reservation or the right table.
While juggling scheming socialites, name-dropping wannabes, fickle celebrities, and egomaniacal bosses, Sam must also deal with a narcissistic chef and other self-important superiors quick to take advantage of him.
Performances of Fully Committed are broadcasting live, online from the Jeffers Theatre. Performances are Fridays and Saturdays, December 4-12 at 7:30 pm, Sunday, December 6 at 2:30 pm, and Thursday, December 10 at 7:30 pm. All performances are Eastern Standard Time.

Fully Committed is the second production in the Theatre’s 2020-2021 Season. Paramount Automotive and Sunbelt Xpress are the season sponsors.
