Hickory – Stop by Hickory Museum of Art on Wednesday, November 13 and celebrate World Kindness Day. Enjoy cupcakes, music by members of Puddingstone, and at 12:45 pm a ribbon cutting ceremony for a new Kindness Mural created by local artists, poets, and community members.
The mural will be on exhibition at the Museum from November 12 – November 17. You will have the opportunity to be part of the Kindness Mural. Stickers will be available for you to add a word, phrase, act of kindness, picture, or anything that represents kindness to you.
This project is the collaboration of kindness.org, funded affiliate members of the United Arts Council of Catawba County (which includes Hickory Museum of Art, Catawba Science Center, Hickory Community Theatre, Western Piedmont Symphony, Hickory Choral Society, The Green Room Community Theatre, Hickory Landmark’s Society, and Catawba County Historical Association), Molly Bass and Bass-Smith Funeral Home, local artists and writers, and members of the community in and around Catawba County. Mural artists include Andrew Atkin, Jennifer Bell, John David Brown III, Derrick Chalfant, Sarah Smith, Kendra Williford, and Denise Baxter Yoder.
