Hickory – Local author Tamra Wilson will be at Patrick Beaver Memorial Library on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at 6:30 p.m. to present a program entitled “She Loves You: The World of Teen Idols.” The program introduces a newly released book “Idol Talk” that Wilson co-edited with novelist/playwright Elizabeth Searle. It is a collection of essays about the teen idols of some of America’s most fabulous women writers such as Jill McCorkle, Stephanie Powell Watts, and many more. You will be encouraged to recall your own teen idol and how they may have influenced your transition into adulthood.
Tamra Wilson is a fiction writer, essayist and Road Scholar speaker for the North Carolina Humanities Council. She lives in Newton, NC.
This first-ever anthology of women’s essays about their teen idols by Wilson and Searle is entitled “Idol Talk: Women Writers on the Teenage Infatuations That Changed Their Lives.” Books will also be available for purchase.
