Hickory – U.S. Army veterans Jimmy McDonald and April Thompkins both received new roofs the week of July 20th thanks to K&L Dunrite Roofing and Restoration, an Owens Corning Platinum Roofing Contractor, as part of the Owens Corning Roof Deployment Project.
Through a partnership with Purple Heart Homes, Jimmy McDonald of Concord and April Thompkins of Hickory were selected and approved as the recipients for the roof replacements.
The Owens Corning Roof Deployment Project is a nationwide effort to show gratitude and honor the veterans who served our country and the families who support them. Since the inception of this program in 2016, more than 200 military members have received new roofs.
K&L Dunrite Roofing and Restoration provided the new roofs for two local U.S. Army veterans – Jimmy McDonald and April Thompkins – as part of the Owens Corning Roof Deployment Project. The Owens Corning Foundation is donating roofing materials and K&L Dunrite Roofing and Restoration is donating the labor.
