Hickory – Lenoir-Rhyne University will conclude its 2017-18 Playmakers season with a production of Serafina and the Black Cloak. The play, which will be performed Saturday, April 14 at 1pm in P.E. Monroe Auditorium, will follow the Visiting Writers Series presentation by Robert Beatty that begins at noon.
Adapted from the award-winning book by Beatty, the mystery-thriller tells the story of a young girl secretly living with her father in the basement of the Biltmore Estate. She teams up with the nephew of the Biltmore Estate’s owners to discover why children around the property have suddenly begun disappearing.
The play is adapted from Beatty’s book, (see more information on page 11 this week in FOCUS) Serafina and the Black Cloak. Due to mature content, it is rated PG.

The play features a cast of LR students including Callie Cope, Chase Fowler, Caleb Hoyle, Mili Koncelik, Heather Osterer, Ashton Pesterfield, Hannah Saunders, Ariona Smith, Taylor Thomas, and Jovani Valdez.
