Newton, NC – During the month of August, the Catawba County Library will host a school supply drive to benefit the Stuff the Bus campaign at the Catawba County United Way.

Did you know the library plays a key role in fostering a world class education system by enhancing early literacy services and programs, supporting educational excellence in our local school systems, increasing teen engagement and career readiness, and bridging the digital divide?

Another way the Catawba County Library supports educational excellence is through a school supply drive for United Way’s Stuff the Bus campaign. The Catawba County Library and the Catawba County United Way share the goal of ensuring children start school ready to learn and positioned to excel. Like the library, United Way works to connect families to available resources and a school supply drive is a great way to make sure students have what they need throughout the school year!

All library locations will be collecting school supplies and hygiene products for the month of August. All donations will be taken to United Way for dispersal between all three local public school districts – Catawba County Schools, Hickory Public Schools, and Newton-Conover City Schools.
