15th Annual Veteran’s Festival and Parade
The event is hosted by the Town of Catawba and the Town of Catawba Veteran’s Garden of Honor. It begins at 10 a.m.
Free Veterans Breakfast
Hickory area ministers from the Greater Hickory Ministerial Alliance & Carolina Caring are sponsoring a Free Veterans Breakfast on Saturday, Nov. 9th at 8am. Veterans are invited to a Free Hot Breakfast and Special Program to Honor Your Service to our Country. The Hickory Soup Kitchen is located at 110 2nd St. Pl. SE, Hickory, NC.
Veterans’ Dinner
The Berry-Chambers-Wright American Legion Post No. 322 Auxiliary will offer a free dinner for local veterans from 4-6 p.m. Saturday at the Mountain View Recreation Center in Morganton, an annual tradition for the group.

Veterans’ Breakfast
The Disabled American Veterans Morganton Chapter No. 43 will offer its annual free breakfast to area veterans from 7-9 a.m. Monday at its headquarters at 2779 DAV Ave. in Morganton. The menu will include biscuits and gravy, eggs, grits and beverages.
Veterans Day Service & Lunch
The Burke County Veterans Day program will take place at 11 a.m. in the large conference room at Foothills Higher Education Center in Morganton. The program is free and open to the community. A pre-program meet and greet will precede the program at 10:30 a.m.
Veterans Day Parade hosted by the City of Lincolnton. The event begins at 11 a.m. and runs until 12:30 p.m. American Legion Post 30 sponsors this annual salute to our veterans. All are welcome to join the parade. Line-up starts at 10:30 a.m. on West Water Street at Flint. Parade starts at 11 a.m. and marches down East Main Street from Flint to East Court Square. A short ceremony will be held at the Veterans Monument.
Veterans Day Service
The event is from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. at the Town of Catawba Veteran’s Garden of Honor located at 102 1st Street NW in Catawba. Organizers will unveil newly added Veteran names with a short service of honor and remembrance for all servicemen and women. If you wish to add the name of a veteran please visit Catawba Town Hall to complete the paperwork. There is a $50 fee to have a name engraved on the granite wall.

This day is the anniversary of the signing of the armistice, which ended the World War I hostilities between the Allied nations and Germany in 1918. Veterans are thanked for their services to the United States on Veterans Day. A ceremony hosted by the American Legion is held on the square in Downtown Lenoir, located at 801 West Ave NW, Lenoir, NC 28645 from 12:00 PM - 1:30 PM.
