Try square dance lessons!
Starting Monday, January 9, the Hickory Twirlers Square Dance Club is offering a series of 12 lessons. First lesson is free, then $44 for the remaining classes, January 9-March 27.
We will meet each Monday, 6:30 – 8:00 PM at Neighbors Network, 502 Thornburg Dr NE Conover, NC 28613.
No partner is needed. All ages are welcome – the Hickory Twirlers have had members ages 7 to 77! There’s no dress code but do wear comfortable shoes. We also recommend bringing your own water.
Teacher Ron Kapnick has over 30 years’ experience as a caller, and he will have you dancing in no time. Once you’ve completed the 12 lessons, you will be able to dance with any mainstream square dance group in the U.S.
So, jump on the bandwagon! Square dancing is a part of our American heritage, and in this age of “vintage is now hip,” we are seeing a resurgence in its popularity.
Bottom line: Square dancing is friendship set to music!
