Hickory – The big Broadway musical Something Rotten, opening August 27th at the Hickory Community Theatre, features an outstanding ensemble that fills multiple roles. Each actor plays a wide variety of characters, including actors, fortune tellers, businessmen, demons, devils, jurists and many more. There is also a lot of dancing as the show has ten huge production numbers.
The members of this outstanding ensemble are Lauren Albers, Heather Baynes Archer, Nathan Crabtree, Autumn Dagenhardt, Sierra Doyle Rios, Emma Lee Kurts, Paul David Kurts, Bill Morgan, Joey Nuhfer, Jesse Ramirez, Jonathan Ray, Jill Roberts, Mark Alton Rose, Chad Schuermeyer, Dior Scott, Bethany Spears, Christian Underwood, Jared Wachsmuth and Lucy Weaver.
In Something Rotten, brothers Nick and Nigel Bottom are desperate to write a hit play but are stuck in the shadow of that Renaissance rock star known as “The Bard.” When a local soothsayer foretells that the future of theatre involves singing, dancing and acting at the same time, Nick and Nigel set out to write the world’s very first musical. The show is rated PG-13.
