New to Theaters:

The First Omen (**) There’s no truth in advertising on this one. This is the sixth film in a series that started with the 1976 original and continued with three sequels and a remake. The First Omen as a standalone film is also a largely by the numbers origin story involving a nun being brought into a conspiracy plot cooked up by the catholic church in the early 70s, albeit with a few gory moments thrown in here and there to keep the horror fans satiated. It lacks the elegance and class that Richard Donner brought to the original film. There’s also an open door for a sequel in case anyone is interested in further chapters.
