Valdese, NC – The annual Christmas in November Craft and Gift Show, presented by the Historic Valdese Foundation, will be held on Saturday, November 10 from 9am until 4pm at the Old Rock School. “This event kicks off our holiday season and is definitely one of our favorites,” states Morrissa Angi, Community Affairs Director. “It is the perfect opportunity to shop local and to purchase unique gifts for friends and family.”
Over 40 handmade crafters sell their items and include jewelry, hand-carved wood crafts, home décor, soaps, holiday décor, dolls and more! This year the craft show will feature more vendors than ever before. A raffle will be held for various door prizes and attendees must visit each vendor to qualify. Prizes such as hand-painted furniture, two accent chairs donated by Kellex of Valdese, hand-painted holiday décor, and much more! To qualify, attendees will be given a passport at the door with the list of vendors and they must visit each booth to have their passport stamped for a chance to win.
“We are also excited to have so many new vendors join our show for the first time this year. We had a record number of applications, and we are so excited for everyone to see these awesome products,” states Angi. The show will span throughout the entire bottom floor of the Old Rock School.
Valdese First Baptist Church will also be there to provide shoppers with a delicious lunch and snacks to eat while they shop! Waldensian Style Wines will also be there sharing samples of their famous Peach Bellini, as well as selling wine by the bottle.
Those that attend the annual event will also have the opportunity to visit the Piedmont and Western Railroad Museum. Founded in July of 1988, the Piedmont & Western Model Railroad Club has combined the talents and passions of local railroad enthusiasts to create a fictitious rail line serving Western North Carolina. The HO scale railroad runs from Marion, NC to Leadvale, TN, carrying loads across the scenic Blue Ridge Mountains. The layout fills two small rooms in the Old Rock School and is entertaining for all who visit and it covers approximately 800 square feet. The mainline is mostly single track and is approximately 250 feet long. Total track covers over 1,000 feet.
The fee to enter the craft show is $1 per person or free with the donation of a canned food item. The first 250 shoppers will also receive a complimentary wooden Christmas ornament!
