Hickory – In the midst of the destruction wrought by hurricane Helene to our area, it is heartening to see how our community is pulling together to support our neighbors.
Employees and friends of Olde Hickory Brewery have volunteered their time this week to help CAN WATER to donate to those in need in the mountains of Western North Carolina.
OHB is working with Josh Keener, the director of Towing Recovery Professionals in Eastern North Carolina, to deliver the water to the areas between Asheville and Blowing Rock.
The brewery is also working with Isaac Crouch, with Simply Green Recycling, who will be distributing the water being donated in Morganton.
Olde Hickory Brewery has donated all of the cans they have on hand to package water and Tap Hopper, one of their suppliers, is donating more cans that they will be filling with water this week. Bringing the total to approximately 10,000 cans of water being delivered to those in need.
Steven Lyerly and Jason Yates, brewery owners, expressed their gratitude for all those volunteering and coming together to help make this water, and more, available to our friends and neighbors in the mountains.
