Hickory – The Southeastern Pyrography Association (SEPA) October 3rd meeting will not have a specific program. Instead, we will be concentrating on each attendee working on a project of their choice. If you have something you are working on, or just want to spend some time “burning”, and picking the brains of others in attendance, please feel free to attend this meeting.  The meeting begins at 11:00 AM  at Klingspor’s Woodworking Shop, 856 21st St. Drive SE, Hickory. Guests are always welcome at club meetings.

Pyrography is the art of using heat to put a design onto many different mediums (wood, paper, gourds, and many other materials). SEPA is focused on providing an opportunity for interested personnel to get together for training and social interaction with other pyrographers. Any skill level is welcome at our meetings and into the club. We meet once a month (1st Saturday of the month) at Klingspor’s Woodworking Shop, 856 21st Street Drive SE, Hickory, NC 28602 from 11:00 AM – approximately 1:00 PM. If you have an interest in pyrography, please come see us at our meeting. We look forward to meeting you.

This month, we will focus on having an “open burn” for everyone to participate in. We hold this sort of meeting a couple of times a year to allow members and guests to practice what they have learned at previous meetings, or to catch up on something they might be working on. This gives anyone who is entering a project in the Klingpor’s Woodworking Extravaganza competition to finish any last-minute details. We will also have a show-and-tell segment, so bring some of your work to show off. Hope to see you there!

The Klingpor’s Woodworking Extravaganza is the premier annual woodworking show put on at the Hickory Metro Convention Center, 1960 13th Ave Dr. SE, Hickory, NC 28602. The dates of the show are Friday and Saturday, October 23-24. There are competitions for wood carvers, pyrographers, and wood turners. Admission is free, and parking is free. All of the clubs supported by Klingspor will be there, as well as many vendors. Various demonstrations will be ongoing throughout the day and there are many “show special” deals that can be had during the show. More information about the Extravaganza can be found at: https://www.woodworkingshop.com/woodworking-extravaganza-2026.
