Well folks it appears we kinda find ourselves at a bit of a nexus point this week. Last week we wrapped up our annual Hell-o-ween run. So, we’ve put horror in the rearview till next year.
And yet it seems too early to start dredging up things to be thankful for. Thus, we find ourselves between holidays. Too late for terror, too early for turkey. Witches to the left of me, Pilgrims to the right and here I am… stuck in the middle with you!
Which ain’t so bad, but it does leave us with the dilemma of what to talk about and which way to go. Maybe the ideal solution is to find some way to meet where we already are- in the middle. Something terrifying, that we can be thankful for? Let me ponder on that for a minute or two and we’ll be right back… after these commercial messages…
“Donald Trump wants to give tax breaks to billionaires! Donald says- “Yes, I’m very rich!” Kamala Harris supports the middle class and wants to give tax breaks to them. She also promises to lower grocery, housing and gas prices for average working Americans!” I’m Kamala Harris and I approve this message!
Interesting… so does that bother me more because I won’t get a tax break? Or because I’m not a billionaire? Billionaires are people too, right? But they have more money so they should pay more, right?
Groceries, housing, gas prices? How exactly are we going to lower the costs of all these things? Common argument- Kamala has already been in the White house for a few years so why hasn’t this been addressed before? Does Biden oppose the middle class?
In separate commercials both candidates always drone on about helping the “middle class.” Is that solely because that balloon term represents the voting majority? What about the upper class? (Those who aren’t billionaires yet). The lower class? Science class? People with no class at all?
Maybe their running mates can clear things up. What does the V.P. debate tell us? (Because it’s the only one I’ve actually watched). Not for political awareness or interest, but for the comedy aspect.
Trump’s man Vance looks cool, confident… evil? Kamala’s guy Walz looks like… well a nervous, scared Muppet and keeps taking notes? Ah, so Vance thinks his running mate ran things like a Nazi in his previous term. And Walz is friends with school shooters? Hey, I’m not making this up- watch the debate on YouTube.
So, there’s not a snowballs chance in hell of salvaging anything positive about the Nazi thing. But if our next potential V.P. is friends with shooters? That could be beneficial as he could maybe talk them into not shooting? It’s not looking good from this angle… or any angle. Ummm… Let’s look at more commercials.
It seems that (according to Kamala)- Mr. Trump is a chauvinistic, anti-abortion, racist. Yet he claims she utilizes Ebonics depending on the race of folks she speaks to. (According to Donald)- Mrs. Harris welcomes illegal-alien criminal terrorists to cross our borders. And they are eating the American peoples’ pets. Hmmm… so at the polls we now must face the difficult decision that has plagued many for years- who do we love more, our kids or our pets?
Why is it that every presidential political ad must focus on pointing out the faults of the other candidate? Most 90% slander in content. It seems rather disconcerting that either candidate or their electoral commercial committee focuses so much attention and funds on vicious mudslinging. Couldn’t those efforts be put to better use… like helping out that middle class they’re so fond of badgering?
What do I mean badgering? Hold on let me delete out these hundreds of political-spam text messages. Clean out the dozens of anti-Trump/anti-Harris emails and clear my missed political endorsing phone call log. Badgering? Yeah, we just covered that. Tired of hearing it, sick of seeing it and sick and tired of the whole mess.
That said, many of you may wonder what my stance is on the current political platform. To put it simply- I don’t have one. Firmly believing it’s all a sideshow to distract attention from the puppeteers hiding in the shadows. That it’s all terrifying and we can be thankful when it’s over.
