Jennifer Owen is a preschool teacher at The Sunshine House in Lenoir, NC. When she is not educating children in the classroom, she creates children’s books that inspire children with messages about kindness, belonging, and welcoming each other.
Ms. Owen demonstrated her writing skills with the debut of “Prince Kindness” in 2023. However, she started with a love of writing poetry and short stories. Owen ventured into children’s literature in 2017 for a class project that led to “Tree of Beautiful Wings.” She is proud to have this work finally turned into a book to share with children and their families. Owen hopes to continue writing stories that inspire young minds by addressing essential themes in a gentle and engaging way.
“Tree of Beautiful Wings” introduces readers to an Adonis Blue butterfly on a journey to find a place where she belongs. As the butterfly explores various environments, she learns valuable lessons about diversity, acceptance, and the beauty of finding one’s place in the world.
