Hickory – Join us for a program with author Kao Kalia Yang at Patrick Beaver Memorial Library on Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at 6:30 p.m.
Yang is the author of the award-winning book, The Latehomecomer: A Hmong Family Memoir (Coffee House Press, 2008) and the book, The Song Poet (Metropolitan Books, 2016).
Kao Kalia Yang is a teacher, public speaker, and writer. Yang is a member of the Hmong ethnic minority. Born in Thailand’s Ban Vinai Refugee Camp, Yang is now an American citizen living in Minneapolis, Minnesota with her family.
The program features an author talk with time for audience questions and a book signing. Books will be available for purchase with cash or check.
This program is funded by the Hickory Public Library Endowment, a component fund of the North Carolina Community Foundation, and by Friends of Hickory Public Library.
