Hickory – NC Cooperative Extension Agent April Vigardt will lead an informative session on fall gardening at Patrick Beaver Memorial Library, Saturday, July 22, from 1-2PM. Yes, you can still plant food! Just because stores are closing out their gardening sections mid-summer doesn’t mean there isn’t food you can still grow. We will be talking about planting garlic, carrots, salad greens, onions, some root crops, cold hardy herbs, and more. If participating in the plant swap following the talk, please bring healthy, pest-free plants, starts, and/or seeds to share. Registration is required and will open three weeks before the event.
