The Carolina Renaissance Festival is unable to open tomorrow, Saturday, October 27th due to today’s persistent rainfall caused by remnants of Hurricane Willa. The persistent rain combined with a forecast for overnight cool temperatures will result in over saturation and slow drying of the farm fields used as seasonal parking. The Festival anticipates that cars cannot park in a safe and proper manner.
The Festival is typically open rain or shine but considers the amount of rainfall and cool temps caused by remnants of Hurricane Willa to be a unique weather event.
The Festival will open Sunday, October 28th as scheduled. The Carolina Renaissance Festival is a medieval amusement park, a 14 stage theater, a 25-acre circus, an arts and crafts fair, a jousting tournament and a feast – all rolled into one non-stop, day-long family adventure.
